The beginnings of what today is BEACH COMPANY can be found in 1978. Back, then our activities were mostly selling shorts, with a focus on sales in the tourist market.
In the beginning the capabilities for large-scale production were not available, so we relied mostly on small-scale production workshops. This was the case until a certain volume of production was reached in which inefficiencies became evident and the company was forced to install the necessary machinery and personnel for direct production. This strategy brought with it increased quality control, a characteristic that has remained our philosophy: to improve the quality of our items constantly in order to be competitive within the world market. As time went by the company began to extending its coverage from local, to the regional, and subsequently to the national level. In time, our coverage became international.
Halfway along the way, responding to both a strategic approach and the inexistence of beachwear and surf apparel stores in México, which at the times were a burgeoning tendency in the world, we decided to open several retail points of this kind. The first direct sales point was in the city of Guadalajara where the company has its offices and main operations center. This was in 1987. Currently, the company has 60 retail points that are directly operated and 15 that function through concession.

SQUALO was born in 1993 as an authentic Mexican brand inspired in surfing and its lifestyle. After 14 years, it has become the leading brand within the Mexican market of surfwear.
The concept of SQUALO comes from a combination of values that are tied to Puerto Escondido and the magic surrounding this place, which is known worldwide as "The Mexican Pipeline". A strong sense of connection to and pride of our historical, cultural, and geographic heritage with an adventurous nature, a passionate attitude towards life, respect and peaceful coexistence with the ocean and its surroundings, the experience of surfing in Puerto Espandido or any other paradise-like Mexican or Latin beach, all this represents SQUALO' s essence.

The line of products that Squalo offers covers a range of active and casual clothing based on the practice of surfing and the lifestyle it represents: t-shirts, boardshorts, walkshorts, shirts, jeans, sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts, caps, sandals, wallets, backpacks, rashguards, surfboards and other surf accessories complete the line.
Our products are distributed through exclusive SQUALO Surfshops, specialized retail stores and the best department stores in the country. Our chain of brand-exclusive retail stores across the Mexican territority is the largest in the country.
Squalo surf shops
Squalo surf shops is a retail point whose spaces are not focused on shelves and cash registers. Our goal is to persuade consumers to experiment with the idea that when using the products in a Squalo surf shop one gain access to a unique community. Squalo surf shop is a store concept whose object is to globally communicate the surf experience and its lifestyle. This is a place where one can breathe in the experience of surfing with the flavor of the Mexican coastline, a place where the adventurous curiosity to discover new beaches on which to surf is transmitted. We utilize various means to communicate this to all our senses. This includes everything from materials used in the constructions of our stores, the furniture, and even the scents and music that are utilized to create a complete ambience that will mark our client' s shopping experience. In addition to Squalo, this store concept includes on our sales floor a number of leading brand names in the international market, thereby offering a complete line of articles that ranges from clothing to surfboards, and surfing accessories.
